Food service students from South Staffordshire College’s Tamworth campus have walked away with gold medals in an inter-college competition. Students had to mix cocktails, fold napkins professionally, perform silver service waiting and display a knowledge of wine - and pouring it. Adam Godfrey, a second-year student, and Grant March, first-year, beat competition from the University of Derby College, Macclesfield College, Tameside College, Stockport College and Burton College. The boys were delighted with their black-and-gold themed entry, which ran through all elements of their service, from table decorations to their uniforms. This is the second consecutive year that students from Tamworth campus have won this competition, called World Skills. Expectations are high that South Staffordshire College’s success in the competition will continue in future years. |
